LSB Industries, Inc. recently announced that its ClimateMaster, Inc. subsidiary achieved an efficiency breakthrough with its introduction of the Trilogytm 40 series, the first geothermal heat pumps ever certified by the Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) to exceed a 40 Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER) at ground-loop test conditions and 50 EER at ground-water test conditions. The new ultra-efficient Trilogy 40 series utilizes variable speed and patent-pending Q-Modetm technology to achieve annual energy reductions of 60% for heating, cooling and hot water heating compared to standard efficiency 13 SEER conventional systems and uses 30% less energy than current top-tier geothermal heat pumps. In addition to energy efficiency, the Trilogy 40 Q-Mode delivers extremely high levels of comfort and humidity control by precisely matching its capacity to the heating and cooling requirement.
Trilogy 40 geothermal heat pumps can be used for residential, commercial and institutional buildings and for both new construction and renovation/retrofit applications. Trilogy 40 units are currently in limited production, with full availability scheduled for late this year. The Trilogy 40 Q-Mode is the result of a five year collaboration between ClimateMaster and Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), which was sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy Building Technologies Program. Energy savings are based on field tests and analysis by ORNL.“LSB has a track record of industry leadership and innovation with our geothermal products,” said Barry Golsen, President & COO of LSB Industries. “We are proud to continue that with the launch of ClimateMaster’s new Trilogy 40 Q-Mode, which is far more energy efficient than any conventional heating and cooling system, significantly more efficient than any other geothermal heat pump available, and the only one with Q-Mode technology to provide year-round water heating.”
LSB is a manufacturing and marketing company. LSB’s principal business activities consist of the manufacture and sale of commercial and residential climate control products, such as geothermal and water source heat pumps, hydronic fan coils and modular geothermal chillers, and large custom air handlers; and the manufacture and sale of chemical products for the agricultural, mining, and industrial markets. This press release contains certain forward-looking statements within the meaning of the Private Securities Litigation Act of 1995.
