Real Goods Solar Appoints Jeffrey Schmidt as President of Its Commercial & Utility Solar Unit, RGS Energy



Real Goods Solar, Inc. a leading provider of turnkey solar energy solutions, has appointed Jeffrey Schmidt to the new position of president of its RGS Energy division. RGS Energy is the commercial and utility solar business unit of Real Goods Solar, providing design-build-finance solar solutions for commercial and utility projects."Our commercial and utility solar operation is expanding across the United States," commented Bill Yearsley, Real Goods Solar CEO. Jeffrey brings a depth of experience in commercial, industrial and utility grade solar that is hard to find in the industry."

Prior to joining Real Goods Solar, Schmidt was employed by Quanta Services, a leading specialty contractor. During his 12 years with Quanta, Schmidt worked in the specialty electrical and telecommunications contracting sectors, where he held various leadership positions from project manager to president. He most recently served as president of Quanta's power generation business unit, where he was instrumental in building Quanta's solar business. During the last four years, he led the completion of over 100 MW of PV solar projects ranging from commercial rooftop projects to large utility projects.

Schmidt will be based at the Louisville, CO corporate center, where he will further build out the operational capabilities of the commercial and utility solar unit to continue to fully meet the expanding needs of the company's diverse client base.
