TROPICAL S.A., a designer and manufacturer of a broad range of fuel-cell power generation systems, announced recently that ASPATE S.A., a developer of large-scale energy projects will install TROPICAL's GreenGen N5, 5KW natural-gas fuel-cell power system in 500 new homes all part of ASPATE's bioclimatic residential construction project.
Over the next 3 years, ASPATE will develop over 500 green energy homes throughout Greece by deploying state-of-the-art environment-friendly technologies including photovoltaic, geothermic and fuel cells. These new eco-houses will enjoy complete energy autonomy. "ASPATE plans to develop over 5000 such residential units by 2020 all built according to thenceforth generally accepted eco-friendly standards" said Konstantinos Aslanidis, ASPATE's President & CEO. TROPICAL's current Fuel-Cell Power Systems product portfolio consists of hydrogen, methanol, propane and natural-gas powered solutions for both stationary and portable applications in the range of 100W to 20kW. Tropical is the first European company to utilize Hydrogen Fuel Cells in power electric cars, scooters and boats and at present it is working on fuel-cell deployment for mini buses.
